This family-run farm shop provides a comprehensive range of high-quality, locally sourced food and drink, making it a destination for those looking to enjoy the best of Wiltshire’s produce.
Very courteous and polite staff. My friends poached eggs were over-cooked but they were quickly replaced with a fresh plate of perfectly poached eggs. My sausage sandwich was very nice. We were just having a light brunch on our way to an event at Hartham Park, but would love to go back for lunch as the full menu was full of delicious sounding food. A great, albeit expensive, experience.
Love it. Simply fantastic farm shop, plenty of everything from fresh vegetables to gifts, a good deli counter and great selection of craft beer and ciders.
If you want the best doughnut in the entire world, go to Allington on a Fri/Sat or Sunday morning and get a fresh Pippins ... utterly sublime doughnuts, especially the Dulce de Leche but also the traditional mixed berry jam are are to die for 😍
Took my mum for a lovely breakfast brunch on our way to a spa - she had eggs on toast with black pudding and I went for the chorizo potato hash.Quick, friendly service, very tasty food and a delightful farm shop - would recommend!
Great produce, well stocked jumping in here on Christmas Eve. Bought a Rib of Beef, pick up was efficient and friendly. Could bankrupt myself in these style of shops! Perfect for Christmas.
Had two breakfasts here and was very disappointed. I went for the allington breakfast with poached egg. The egg was more like a boiled one than poached and I ended up leaving most of it.The mushrooms and tomatoes were nice, but the bacon was fatty, the sausage was disappointing and the toast was cold. My partner had the scrambled eggs which were sloppy and salty.Overall the breakfast was just bad and not worth the £12 price tag; there are better options in the local area.
Lovely farm shop, lots of choice etc...however we picked up some 'bacon' & it was the worst we've ever had 😕 Checked the packet & it was full of E-numbers/preservatives. Not what you'd expect from farm shop bacon, had to throw it away, completely inedible. Shame as we wanted to get our Christmas meat from there...won't be anymore. Other than that, it's a nice little farm shop.
I decided to treat myself to a solo breakfast but, I'm really disappointed with today's experience. I've had the pleasure of eating here a handful of times now but never had one of the breakfasts so I decided to try it today. The breakfast itself was 'ok' but definitely not worth the £16.50 price tag (I went for the larger of the two). The sausages were fluffy inside and quite frankly, not nice at all (I ended up leaving 1.5 out of 2!) which was a big surprise because I've bought sausages from the farm shop itself and they've been phenomenal, maybe they don't use their own sausages!? I don't know but, they weren't nice at all. The bacon, one slice was delicious, the other I could have cracked in half it was so dry, thin and overcooked. The eggs were great, albeit a bit crispy on the whites but lovely runny yolks and the toast, cold. Bit of a shame, it won't put me off returning but, I won't get the breakfast again.
Plenty of choice of pantry goods in the farm shop. Massive range of chutneys. However the place felt joyless, no staff greeted us while we were walking round and they didn’t seem happy to be there.
Nice destination farm shop (more deli) for people who don't have to look at prices. Great selection but 20% more than the farm shops in Essex. I would have bought more if items were priced more competitively.
We went in to get a joint of beef from the butchers. The staff were very helpful in helping us decide what we needed and how much we needed to feed the family that we had coming around.
So many positive things to say about the farm shop but just want to mention the butchers. Really great quality meat at surprisingly competitive prices and with the addition of the provision of advice from experienced friendly butchers.
Nice up market cafe and farm store. Includes fresh bread selection and vegetables and butchers counter as well as other store items. Excellent selection of food and drinks available in the cafe though it does stop serving hot food from 3pm though fresh sandwiches available which is disappointing as they are open until 5.30pm. Worth trying. About 7 minutes from the M4 jct 17 southbound. Plenty of parking and easy access.
Paid £4 each for six steak pasties £25. Thought they were going to be delicious.Well over cooked on the outside, pastry was really overdone and nothing but mush on the inside. Very disappointed with this product. Not as described. Not one bit of steak meat inside. Won’t be buying from Arlington Farm Shop in the future as it’s a rip off
Stopped here for breakfast this morning, not the cheapest, but the breakfast was absolutely banging, all the components of the breakfast was top quality, absolutely no need for any condiments, it was fresh and tasty
Totally lovely cafe and farm shop- lovely to have tbis sort of thing really accessible to Chippenham- it's only a short walk from the Lidl.Beautiful fresh cakes and high quality teas & coffees.Service is lovely. Never felt rushed. The attached farm shop has a fantastic range of homewares and produce.Bit of a gem, worth popping in if you haven't already been and you are local.
Posting on behalf of friend. He called in yesterday to buy beef. Asked a straight forward question about the provenance and received a cocky, rude reply. At least one of your butchers needs training around customer service but apart from that the beef was excellent as usual. Five star beef.
Great farm shop with pretty much everything you need from a farm shop. The butchery department is excellent!! The icing on the cake would be to have a fresh fish counter but we can’t have everything.
Best food establishment in the area. Breakfast is excellent, but the real deal is at lunch on the specials board. I am a New Yorker and I do struggle with the lack of choice and sometimes quality in Chippenham, but Alington consistently delivers excellent food and amazing service. My favorite place in Chippenham.
Went in here just for farm shop, produce was amazing. Then we went in the cafe too for lunch and best food! We'll proced and great quality. Would def recommend this place
Fantastic farm shop with a great range of meat, fresh produce and some amazing drinks, condiments and treats that I've never seen anywhere else.It is pricey but for occasional treats it's great. (there is a cafe here too)
Yes it’s a farm shop and so expect higher prices but don’t know why there were negative comments. Food was fresh, service was friendly and helpful. We went Saturday and Sunday for lunch after arriving from London.Enjoyed a tasty lamb shoulder , the meat was sort of compressed into a patty appearance but tasted great. Wife and I also enjoyed the three salad bowl, interesting mix of flavours. For cake we tried Victoria sponge, frangipani tart, cherry cheese cakeFruit in the shop was fresh too
This is one of those garden centre cafes that seem to get more trade than the garden centre itself and the cafe is the new destination. We had lunch and dessert on a Saturday, probably not the best time to visit! The downside - noise! I actually left with a headache as there was no sound deadening or blocking between booths and the constant noise level was ridiculous. I don’t know how the staff cope.Other than that, lunch was nice, desserts were fabulous and prices were on the high end considering the environment. Staff were friendly and the menu had a good variety.
