Fantastic shop but cafe food not great. Burgers always overcooked with overcooked buns too. Last meal I had was calamari - straight from a packet which was very disappointing and tasted awful. Meal before that was very greasy. None of us finished our food. Service is friendly but not very good. Sadly we have been put off coming again, despite being frequent visitors to the shop.
Awesome food, fantastic meat from the butchers. As they butcher weddings carcasses they can do some great cuts. All of their food is fantastic quality stuff, though you pay a little bit more for it.The cheese counter is fantastic too, some wonderful cheeses from the UK and abroad. All in perfect condition for eating.Nothing has changed, it's still a great place for quality ingredients.
Lovely experience at the farm shop yesterday afternoon. We arrived just after 3pm and were really hungry. We were served by Will who had excellent customer service skills despite his young age. He sensed we were a little disappointed we couldn’t have the mains from the lunch menu as they stop serving these after 3pm. However his charm won us over and he convinced us to say and have a sandwich and a side which he said would be more than enough food and delicious. He was absolutely right. The staff are polite and the setting was beautiful.
The farm shop is delightful evey thing so fresh with a Delhi style array of stock it’s a cavern of tempting ideas with a fab butchery breads cheeses you name it I recommend it
Good Farm Shop and cafe, stooped here for breakfast with 6 friends after a motorcyle ride. Plenty of parking. Great breakfast using quality produce, good coffee and cakes.
Love this place. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is delicious. Garlic and chilli prawns on sourdough toast - yum! Also bought some scones from the shop. We usually have a cream tea when we visit the café so had to take some scones home. They are the best scones ever - really light and melt in your mouth.
Tried to have a coffee here last year but left after half an hour because we hadn't been served apparently we hadn't asked permission to sit down, tried the shop today, Good range of stock, if very expensive, had the cottage pie which is a seasonal dish but full of the ubiquitous tomato and unfortunately so much salt it was unpleasent but then I expect their caterer has been watching television chefs. Also discovered when we got home that there was absolutely no labeling on it, ingredients, cooking times etc which I think is probably illegal, not very nice at all.
It's such a lovely shop to get fresh farm produce just like home. My fav shop, it's just breathtaking to pick my potatoes with mud on! And fresh Orange juice
Good food, but expensive. Annoying to have the big breakfast, ask to exchange/swap items (not add), such as black pudding for bacon. They take the black pudding away, but then charge you for extra bacon…. Very annoying. Exchange is different to add
What a greeting, what would you like, 2 teas please and before can even ask for the menu, told no takeaway outside opposite and didn't want to serve us guess won't be coming here again 😡
Lovely setting in Midhurst on the Cowdray Estate. Farm shop well stocked with quality produce. Cafe has extensive menu & staff are friendly & efficient. Hot food very nice. Cappuccino however not so great & at £4.10 for a regular, I expected better quality coffee & made better. Almond croissant, £3.75, also not great - small & over-baked. I compare coffees & cakes with Flint Owl Bakery & Cafe in Lewes, who are hard to beat
Only visited the Farm Shop and Café. I arrived 4:45 and the served me in the café although they had started to clear out, ready to close at 5pm.Delicious coffee and brownie!Sweet detail of fresh flowers on the table, lovely crockery, quality napkins. The Farm Shop is very well stocked of fresh produce, meats, eggs, cheeses, condiments, bread, some cooked pies, desserts, wines and so on.I was hoping for cooked food or ready to eat stuff but did not find anything of my taste.Service was absolutely fantastic. Will definitely visit again.
Always a lovely brunch or lunch to be had in the cafe! Everything tastes fresh, high quality & local! Highly recommend the BLT & the smoothies! The shop is a good way to pass the time browsing & pick up some treats! Cheese counter is to die for!
It was last minute booking. The place was middle of the forest bell tent, with air mattress sleeps 5 people, you will need to get the beddings. Would have been great if there was some lights or torch provided as its too dark in the night. There is a toilet block bit away from tent also without lights, extra woods cost extra. Shower bit further away but has hot water.
A weekend lunchtime visit to Cowdray Farm Shop & Cafe.A picturesque and very well kept location with a fantastic farm shop and a great cafe.Lots to browse through in the farm shop including wines, cheeses and a local butchery.Next door was the cafe with plenty of inside and outside seating. We had coffees and a BLT and avocado and tomato on sourdough. Both were very well presented and tasted great! Good coffee too. Top marks to our waitress who had a good chat with us while taking our order and checking that we had everything we wanted and were enjoying our food.Express pizza and cake area too for freshly made pizzas at lunchtime.Plenty of outside seating at picnic tables in the field and a polo match was in progress when we visited. We will definitely be back again! If you found this useful please like 😃👍🏻
