Busy cafe adjacent to the farm shop. Clean with indoor and outdoor seating. Good coffee and cake stop for cyclists. Full breakfast and lunch menus also available. Reasonable prices and good pleasant service.
Great farm shop with a lovely tea room... we enjoyed a delicious lunch here with a superb view, and bought some delicious cake from the shop. The tea room would benefit from a makeover it is not particularly attractive more functionalGreat friendly staff
Wish we had more farms of this standard. It’s amazing. I always enjoy a visit to Croots. From the farm shop to the cafe and being able to watch the farm animals roam freely and the miles of green fields from the outside decking - it’s just amazing.Only small feedbacks will be - sometimes the cafe staff can come across a bit rude.. understandably so because they get super busy but ultimately it is a bit off putting and it’s a shame because their cafe food is great..
I've been going to Croots for many years now but not been recently so popped along this morning. All there stuff is so tasty. Friendly staff. Their award winning sausages are really good in a toad in the hole. So much lovely stuff in their deli section.Highly recommendedAlso its a unique shopping experience often having to wait for sheep to move off the road on your drive up to the farm shop, you don't get that at your supermarket LOL.
Shocking attitude of restaurant serving staff. I normally never complain, or write bad reviews but I feel compelled to do so in this instance. First time visit for a coffee, attitude of staff was awful. Was told that it was table service and that someone would come over. Waited a good 10 minutes plus while all serving staff stood at the counter chatting. When I approached to ask if we could place an order was told that it was table service only in rather a rude way in front of other customers. Decided to take our business elsewhere as a result. Clearly not what I expected from a farm shop that has previously had good quality service and produce.
The waitress was very rude, they had no orange juice and the bacon cob we had was cold and the bacon wasn't cooked as it was still a raw colour and the place was cold as they had air conditioning and on.
One of the highest quality farm shops in the area and my nearest stockist of Cropwell Bishop Stilton, which is the absolute hands down best 👌. The only downside is the annoying single track entrance which can be frustrating at busy times and feels like it could be widened.
I did a butchery masterclass with butchery manager Justin and his colleague yesterday.A fantastic experience delivered in a professional yet friendly manner which thankfully catered for an absolute novice.A thoroughly enjoyable evening. Thanks again to all involved in making my 50th so memorable, much appreciated. With Justin at the helm it's hardly surprising that Croots has the best butchery in the area 👌🏻
Would be 5 stars if the prices were sensible. The quality and variety is great. The butchers didn't have what I wanted but the selection was still very good. They also have a little playpark outside with sandpit. Great little shop, just way too expensive.
Very nice farm shop. On the pricier side but It’s understandable for what you get. You’re able to take carrots and feed the horse which is a nice bonus!
Beautiful location, very clean store, lovely staff that were so happy and helpful. Great shop. Definitely want to stop by again on my next trip down!Great selection of locally sourced produce and amazing pies and cheeses!
My partner (who is from Derbyshire) bought me here and I loved it. Decent food and very nice shop attached to the cafe plus you are close to nature and they have their own horses that can be stroked. Brilliant
Very nice countryside farm shop for shopping for food and drinks and also very nice posh restaurant too! It also boasts beautiful views of the british countryside!! There are sometimes horses and sheep there also. 😉👍Ps the horses could also bite! there are warning signs in place...but generally they are friendly.Free carpark too! 🚗🚗😉👍
A nice cosy farm shop with a reasonable selection of artisan foods that will cover most people's requirements. Prices are typical of these types of shop. I bought some cheese, beer and cake. It was all very tasty. I can vouch for Croots Pig in a Bottle session IPA..
Wednesday 4th October visited Croots Farm Shop and Café. Excellent Farm Shop with a great Butchers Shop. The Cafe is excellent and has a great atmosphere. I had a fabulous Bakewell Tart it was so light and fresh. We bought some great pork chops and belly pork. I still use and like the original name.
Awesome farm shop and cafe. The food was lovely and tasty. I was the first one to try their strawberry milkshake, which was deliciously refreshing. The lady serving the meats in the butchers was really friendly. The horses in the farm are so friendly and warm. Great place with great views.
I've passed this farm shop/cafe many times and I visited today for the first time. Produce in the shop is outstanding and good value. The cafe is a little small and booking could be essential at times. Food is excellent but a little expensive, but what the heck every now and then. Hot food is only cooked till 2pm but scones and cakes can be bought after this time. Large car park, toilets and friendly staff. On busy days the driveway could get a little crowded as it's one way with lay-bys. The views from the cafe inside and outside are fantastic. Enjoy your visit
