Family live local, so it’s always nice to pop in for food. Despite not booking, we always manage to gain a table swiftly, with friendly helpful staff, and great food. Always worth a visit
We went for a coffee but sadly it was closed.Response to owner:If that was the case, then there should have been a post or some notice as we were on holiday there and we drove a long way to have this long desired coffee just to find that it was closed. At least you got three stars and not one.
It's a really super place to have a break, great indoor & outdoor spaces to relax. Great views. A delicious farm shop soooo much choice. It can get very busy, but you can book ahead, so no excuse.
Went with friends and their teenage daughter (her choice 🙂), everyone was disappointed. I know that it is a popular location, but it is quite expensive (her words) for not fantastic quality food - never seems freshly cooked. The Staff & the Location are fantastic. Bought a Lemon Meringue Pie 'to go' absolutely DELICIOUS.
Lovely food but the organisation and service need attention. The system is as follows. Wait for table. Waiter showed us to our table and provided menus. When you've decided what you want to eat/drink you join a queue of perhaps 5 or six people all ready to order. You order, tell them your table number, pay and return to your table. Waiting time was advised at 30min but it took longer for our food to be served. The food was really good. Why not offer waitress ordering at the table as well as waitress service? Paying before you have eaten is a shady business practice. What if you're not happy? All in all the food is lovely but the system is café centered not customer centered.
Love this place usually visit a few times a year when visiting family in the area, the gifts in here are lovely the food is fabulous lots of variety from veg to cakes. The cafe serves lovely food
The food is excellent I can not fault the quality. I will however not be given a dressing down from a member of your team. The older woman with a bob hair cut grey and glasses (sorry no name badge) I ordered at 12.05 was not really busy outside was busier than normal as nice weather. A table of five sat down next to ours and two set of two couples all ordered there food after we had placed ours the table of 5 had only been sat 10 minutes and theirs came out and the rest of the couples revived theirs. 30 minutes in I asked the said waitress we haven't received ours but people ordering after us have. She came back and said yours is next but you have to appreciate we cook all our food fresh and we are not only busy in her but out side as well in a rather head teacher voice. I as customer do not have to appreciate anything when I've waited 30 minutes, and people seated after are having their lunch. Especially when my lunch was soup!!and my companion a pie, I'm sure the tomatos were not squashed fresh nor the pie prepared fresh. Would of given 5 stars but miserable staff member and was not informed of a wait when seated..... As you were not busy when I ordered
Delightful place. Delicious lunch - beautifully presented, real chips, good value. Staff were smartly dressed in attractive uniform, efficient and friendly. Such a good experience for eating and shopping - we'll be back.
Staying nearby popped in here for tea and cake,it is a lovely place but service was slow, ordered 4 drinks,2 scones,1 lemon cake and 1 toasted tea cake. If we would have known that the tea cake wouldn't have been served until much later than everything else then would have ordered something else. The drinks, scones and lemon cake were served really quickly but the tea cake arrived after the others had all eaten theirs plus I had finished my drink,if I was made aware of this at ordering then I would have just had a scone like the others. At £28 for 4 drinks and cake I would have expected better/quicker service. On a positive note the shop and gift shop are lovely with fresh produce. I would definitely go back but maybe not for food next time.
Fantastic farm shop, butchers and cafe.Well worth a visit.Lovely gift shop too.Plenty of outdoor seating and parking.Cafe food, tasty and fresh. At busy times, there is a 30 minute wait for food.
This is one of my favourite places to go for coffee and a scone after work!Wendy in the restaurant/coffee shop reception is a perfect front of house person. She always is very friendly and makes us feel really welcome.
What a lovely place ... Great 'farm' shop with a delightful range of fresh and pre done foods, varied gift shop and a few plants , really good cafe/ restaurant , pleasant ambience, decent toilets and parking . As these kind of places often are, somewhat pricey but really lovely. Worth a visit or two .
We had lunch at Denstone farm cafe today Denstone burger was dry and very a limp leaf of lettuce underneath it.we had to ask where the advertised relish was and after waiting a while the staff member gave us a small pot of relish and said if we had anymore problems go to the counter. I couldn't eat my burger it was not very appetising at all. Paid a lot of money for meal of such poor quality
Called in Friday as signs by roadside advised Christmas section open. It was not open -- due to open next day! 😕. Signs were "misleading". 😳 Wife was so disappointed 😭-- I had to take her into the cafe for coffee ☕️& cake🎂🍰🍩 etc for consoling!! £££
First time visit but will definitely be going back. Really good breakfast with local producers and suppliers. Farm shop had some lovely baked goods on sale and a good gift area
This place has been highly recommended to us as somewhere to.shop and eat. The shop was delightful. The cakes in the cafe looked lovely and I would go back for coffee and cake. However we went for breakfast and i should have sent it back as both our meals were cold and poached eggs hard.
Very impressive pit stop to have mid morning cakes, scones, wraps etc on our 230mile bike ride. Generous portions, excellent service and enough staff to make everything run smoothly. Outside garden seating under the tents are lovely.Incidentally it's a far better shop than at Chatsworth House. Better range, quality and service. We'll done
Amazing little place! Popped in on the way back from Alton towers. There is lots of lovely gifts and a wide selection of foods. We had cake and coffee in the cafe, the staff were really friendly and service was quick! The cakes were amazing!!!
