Excellent, my Christmas turkey crown was absolutely lovely. Really pleased with it and the dog enjoyed the leftovers on my plate. Never had a disappointing order.
Oaks Farm ShopBalsall CommonCV7 7AQVisit Date: 26th October 2024Wow! Wow, what a find. A neighbour told us about this place and we were not disappointed. The vegetables are so fresh. The selection of meat looked fabulous. There was a tasting by Nivana Brewery; yummy non-alcoholic beers. There is a café with lovely coffee and cakes.Staff are friendly and helpful.Loos are spotless, and there's lots of car parking.Altogether, it was a worthwhile visit, although we spent more than we planned lolYou will be glad you visited.9.12.2024 Back again for a fabulous Christmas dinner. Great food, great drink and as laways great service thank you, Sian.
A lovely experience, lots of choice. My only gripe would be that everything is rather expensive, so watch out, don't fill your basket too full on your first visit. Deli counter, lots of baked goods, fresh vegetables, frozen foods, and fridges full of meat items such as bacon and sausages. Small giftwrap range, too, allows a bit of an emergency shop if needs be . At the back of Oakes is a small cafe which you can have breakfast or lunch. There is also the option to eat outside, too. Outside, there is also an enclosed separate doggie area with picnic benches so you can chill with food and drinks whilst your pooch links on a doggie ice cream sold there!
Came here a few months ago for breakfast. I ordered the Mighty Oak Breakfast and a cappuccino and they were great! It was a good size and priced reasonably. Though the cafe was busy we did not need to wait and was seated right away. The ambience was ok and the shop was generally clean and tidy. The only comment at the time of our visit is that one of the ladies that serves the breakfast seemed to have woken up on the wrong side of the bed. They also have a farm shop but it’s a bit pricey.
Another lovely lunch within the cafe before a spot of shopping for goodies. The meals are delicious and good value for money.Yes it can be busy sometimes, but that has to be down to word of mouth because of the quality within the cafe and shop which has made it so popular.
We were treated like naughty children! Cakes were under a clear dome and the handling tongs on top. Saw a plate and went about moving a slice from the display to the plate. No sign saying it was not self service. Then moved to order the coffees and 5 five! Staff proceeded to ignore us.Having been there on and off for many years pre Covid and during Covid restrictions. It was a total shame that this Cafe Manager choose to treat older customers as we three in such a rude and unpleasant manner. The same manager seemed to hover near us the whole time we were drinking/eating the cakes. No hint of an apology, total disrespect of the same customers who pay their wages each week.Might give it a miss next time we fancy a coffee in the area.
Their shop has such a great selection of good quality produce. The cafe is also great, with lovely menu for both breakfast and lunch. It’s especially lovely on sunny days when it’s possible to eat outside.
Really nice place with great produce. It's a little on the pricey side but local produce including fruit and veg is always worth it. We love this place but haven't been for a while. If I may mention it's 5 min drive from gate farm caravan site. If the bbq is on then make your way here for your bbq Meats section. Over all really nice well kept place and great produce. It's a winner for us. Oh don't forget there 8s a resturant here and it smells wonderful. Inside and outside seating available.
Lived in the area for over 20 years but never knew this pace existed. Fantastic cakes in the cafe, fab butchers with local packington meat, lovely fresh fruit and veg and some nice deli stuff too. You've also got some nice views from the outdoor seating area where you can enjoy one of those cakes!
Just been to Oakes Farm, this revue is for the cafe only, had Sausages egg and Chips, the Sausages were beautiful eggs excellent BUT ONLY HAD 7 CHIPS an absolute joke, so beware everyone, the rest of the place is very expensive but a lovely place
I liked this farm shop a lot, mainly because I’ve never been here before so everything was new to me, but a little disappointed to read other reviews saying it wasn’t dog friendly. It’s usually something I would notice straight away as my dog is always with me, on this occasion she was tired from her earlier walk so didn’t get out of the car. I will return as there were many interesting and different food items to purchase including dog treats. The caffe area was very busy and there seemed a lot of staff around.
I go to farm shops with my mum, and oakes is near her house but I went there today with my new dog and found out that no dogs are allowed either inside or in the outdoor seating, dogs are welcome in alot of farm shops but I did check online and on here but their is no mention of dogs.
There are times when you feel that Google ought to let you break the five-star barrier and breakfast here today is one of those. This should at least be six stars. I come to the West Midlands to visit my grandkids and go to a motorcycle shop that is the global centre of all things Royal Enfield. After I left the bike shop, I was getting petrol and asked if there was somewhere good to get breakfast. A very kind lady directed me here. She was absolutely right, a breakfast place that needs reservations should be a hint. The food was brilliant, the staff lovely and if only I could take sausages back to the US with me. However the dogs that sniff out things that you should not be bringing in would just get food that they would like but not truly appreciate. As I drove in, a bloke was getting onto an ATV, two sheep in a trailer behind him with a collie sitting on the front. I only wish I had got a picture. Lambs all over the place, sheep in nice green fields, it feels so right. I will be back the next time, but maybe for lunch since the menu looks so good.Breakfast here set me up for the day and a day well set up generally improves as did mine. Thank you and as Arnie said(imagine an Austrian accent) “I’ll be back”.
Lovely farm shop, good choice of produce and quality butchers. Cafe was busy, but we found a table, no trouble. The food was tasty and not too expensive. Staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend.
Had breakfast and coffee and thoroughly enjoyed it. Good sized portion, piping hot and tasted great. Had a short wait for a free table but the staff took our name and came and found us in the shop when it was ready.
More than happy with our experience of cafe/coffee shop. No tables immediately available as just before lunch on a sunny Friday morning but name taken and by time taken for a quick look round shop were seated. Happy with prices and very lovely cakes. Staff were kind and attentive in both cafe and shop. Worth a return visit.
a great farm shop and cafe. Food here is always good and the service is excellent, i have my coffee black and the taste is very good not bitter. Scones and cakes are also excellent. in the farm shop the butchers counter has a great selection of meat and a butcher to serve you rather than selecting from pre packed products. Bread is by Andrew Davies of Kenilworth so is local.
Dropped in with my wife and grandson for a late lunch. Wasn't too busy and managed to get straight to a table which was clean and well laid out.Ordered food from the counter, a baked potato for my wife, panini for myself and sausage for my grandson. All of the food was delivered pretty quickly, everything was fresh, hot and well presented, with the server warning of hot plates due to my young grandson being at the table.Everything was very flavourful and I would have to give a special mention to the wedges which were exceptional as a side. The surroundings are lovely to look out on, even on a rainy day and it was a nice treat for my grandson to see the sheep up close. There is also a great country style shop and butchers offering fresh & frozen food as well as artisanal condiments, oils and gifts. All in all, a lovely setting, lovely food and although a little more money than some other places, it's not expensive, given 3 meals and three drinks coming in at about £30.
Great farm cafe, ample parking, clean, pleasant farm view. Food served is great too and coffee quantity is generous but overly bitter. Scone is dense and weighty, great with clotted cream and jam.
A lovely farm shop and restaurant serving home farmed produce and delicious cakes, light bites, breakfasts and main meals. Great value, choice and nice surroundings with helpful and polite staff.Today I had a delicious afternoon tea with friends. We had a lovely choice of sandwiches, quiche and sausage roll; then a fruit scone with jam and clotted cream and some beautiful cakes, including Victoria sponge, ginger cake, Bakewell tart, brownie and flap jack. It was amazing value and absolutely delicious. 10/10 😋😊
A brilliant farm shop and cafe, that serves superb home made food, which is truly delicious. The shop sells everything from fresh meat , fresh vegetables, bread, milk, eggs, cakes, wine and spirits, as well as frozen food. There is also a large car park adjacent to the shop. If you are in the Balsall Common area, pop in and see for yourself, I am sure you will not be disappointed.
We arrived at the cafe at about 15:40. We knew it was working until 17pm, so decided to have quick late lunch and head out. Food was really tasteless, cappuccino was with water instead of milk and it was way pricey for the quality of the food we received. By 16:30 they were already cleaning up the tables and felt we were being pushed out. Honestly expected more from the food and staff.
This place has potential, but their manager is rude, abrasive and impertinent. This lady thinks that because she's the daughter-in-law of the owner, she can speak to paying customers in any fashion she chooses. Twice I've had issues with her, the first time I politely asked if they had WiFi, only to be shot down because they want a fast turnover of tables, they don't want people actually staying in their cafe, get the money put of you and get you out of the door in as fast a time as possible. Today, my 14yr old daughter bought some sweets from the farm shop, attached to the cafe, and this 'manager' thought she could challenge her directly bypassing me, her Dad, telling her she couldn't eat sweets that weren't bought in the cafe!! This woman needs a lesson in people skills.
Great cafe, lovely food & good coffee. Shop has a wonderful selection of fresh & dry goods & we very much enjoyed some of their local honey & also lamb meatballs in tomato & herb sauce, we will be back to buy more.It also has an outside area & lovely view & good parking. So glad to have found this little local gem. 👌
This is like a small supermarket rather than just a shop. There is a surprising amount of stock and range here. The quality looks to be very good and as such you can expect to pay a bit more. The meat, cheese and delicatesantThe coffee shop has a nice se
