Tucked away near Stamford Bridge in York, The Balloon Tree Farm Shop & Café is a family-run haven that has been nurturing and offering soft fruit and vegetables on its fertile grounds for over 35 years. With a name inspired by a single tree on the farm which once held 100 balloons to celebrate 100 years of farming by the Machin family, this farm shop has grown from a humble wooden hut to an award-winning retail outlet since opening its doors in April 2004.

The shelves are laden with home-grown vegetables, and though the variety might slightly dip early in the season, the shop remains well-stocked, sometimes with imported goods to ensure a consistent supply.
