Lovely cafe with great coffee, a wide selection of cakes and a very good menu for sandwiches, jacket potatoes, soup and meals. There is a separate annexe where dogs are allowed. There are 3 shopping areas: one leads off the café and has a butcher. Meals, drink, condiments, sweets and dairy are sold there. There is a separate greengrocer and a separate gift shop with gorgeous jewellery. I have locked a point because my cake was dry.

Roots can get very busy, so you may have a little wait for food, other than that the food is lovely, the staff are very polite and friendly. The on-site butchers have a good selection of good quality homegrown meats and produce. It is locally sourced produce, so expect to pay a little more than usual, but it's all of very good quality. They have a lovely little quaint gift shop and vegetable shop all worth a little wander around. The farmer is a lovely guy, very friendly and nice to talk to, he even let my friend and I around the back of his barns to see the cows up close and personal and told us about the cows and where there from, so I can't fault the guy for that. My friend is obsessed with animals, so this was pure delight for her. I've been on many occasions and will keep coming back as It genuinely is a very nice place to go 😁

I decided to drive up the A19 and have breakfast at Roots and I was not disappointed. Nice little farm cafe, relaxing atmosphere and the staff were attentive, professional and friendly. The quality of the breakfast was excellent, I had an extra rasher of bacon instead of the egg. Tasty and lovely presentation, which just makes you want to dive in...which I did. I thoroughly enjoyed it.The one thing I did like was the presentation of my Americano, never experienced this before, my shots of coffee were served in a rustic roots farm mug, with a pot of hot water to the side. Therefore I could make my coffee as strong or as weak as I liked...a really nice touch. All in all a lovely experience 5/5 I'll definitely be back...thank you Roots 🙂

The farm shops are a bit overpriced, same with most of them. However the cafe is absolutely lovely. If you've got kids you might also be able to see some cows in the barn close by.

Have not been here for quite a while. Glad to see that this is a great Cafe. We had a Rise & Shine with Poached eggs, smashed avocado on Sourdough toast and a Sausage Buttie. The poached egg was a bit overdone for me but still delicious and the bread roll with the bacon buttie was fantastic according to my wife. We also had a flat white and Decaf Americano. Highly recommend.

What can I say, other than this was one of the best bowls of Beef Stew that I have ever tasted! We have eaten in the Farm Cafe several times before, and have always enjoyed the food and the comfortable surroundings. On this occasion, we made a snap decision to call in for lunch. Despite the cafe being very busy, we were greeted by the staff as we entered the building and were seated immediately. The service was prompt and the staff were courteous and friendly, although I occasionally felt they weren't giving us their full attention as they were constantly having to move on to the next customer. We couldn't fault the food, which arrived speedily. My Beef Stew was incredibly chunky, with huge pieces of beef and potato, and it tasted fantastic. My partner opted for the quiche and she was equally impressed. Overall, a wonderful meal and a very pleasant experience. I have no doubt we will return sometime soon.
