To celebrate our three-year anniversary, my partner and I participated in the Farrington’s Family Glamping experience, and it surpassed all of our expectations. As newcomers to glamping, we were eager to try something different, and Farrington’s provided the perfect setting for an unforgettable experience. The location is simply stunning, offering a peaceful rural atmosphere with scenic views, ideal for a tranquil getaway. The clear night sky was particularly impressive, providing an excellent opportunity for stargazing—a truly magical way to end our evening. Our stay was complemented by a superb farm-to-table breakfast at Farrington’s Farm Café. The meal was freshly prepared with high-quality, locally sourced ingredients, and each dish was as delicious as it was wholesome. The service throughout our stay was outstanding, with the staff consistently attentive and welcoming, ensuring every aspect of our experience was seamless.Overall, Farrington’s Farm offers a fantastic combination of comfort, natural beauty, and exceptional service. Our glamping experience was thoroughly enjoyable, and I will certainly be considering a return visit. Highly recommended for anyone looking to explore a unique countryside retreat with a touch of luxury.
The staff were very friendly helpful and our order arrived quickly despite the fact they were quite busy. My wife had a cheese scone which she said was amongst the best she had eaten. I had a beef sandwich with horseradish and beetroot spread. The meat was well cooked the filling was great, not too heavy a hand with the horseradish. Just right. We had a cappuccino and tea with our snack and were very happy
3 of us went to Farrington's for lunch on Thursday 12th September. It was lucky that I had booked as it was very busy there. My friends and I enjoyed our lunch and a glass of wine, we also spent some money in the farm shop, gift shop and plant shop. All the staff that we met were lovely and friendly and we look forward to another visit.
This was our forth time visiting this wonderful place, but the first time we have done breakfast, and Wow!!! It's all lush, with well cooked food, and a great choice, I highly recommend and the farm shop is a big bonus with lots of local foods and the butcherey part has loads of bits for all the mear eaters
Thank you for replying promptly but I would like to correct some factual errors in your response. You erroneously claim that the dog was not with us initially whereas it was attached to the wheelchair for the duration of our visit. The nub of this issue is not that Lucy was uncertain as to whether it was an assistance dog. She was unequivocal in her assertion that only guide dogs were permitted and it was on that basis that she indicated it should not be in the café.She presented as being unclear about the definition of an assistance dog, even though both guide dogs and hearing dogs fall under the same category. My friend explained that her dog not wearing its vest because it was overheating in the warm weather but she had all the relevant documentation which she offered to show.As a wheelchair user she has frequently been subject to discrimination on various grounds and we were not dismissive or rude but we were firm and insistent about the legitimacy of the animal’s presence. We are however thankful that you have acknowledged that further training is required.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I was disappointed and embarrassed when I visited the café with my friend today. She is a wheelchair user who has an assistant dog. The manageress, Lucy, approached us and told us that we could not bring the dog in. When it was pointed out that it was an assistant dog she remonstrated that only guide dogs were admitted.Although we tried to correct her misapprehension she persisted in challenging us. It is unequivocally specified in the Equality act of 2010 that assistance dogs have a right of entry. The dog in question is highly trained and obedient, and was tethered to the chair. The manageress was not au fait with the law and her approach in public was not only intimidating but totally unnecessary and inappropriate. It is evident that the café staff lack training in such matters and this shortcoming should be addressed forthwith.
On holiday and found this place great fresh food. Had a sanding the restaurant loved it. Wiltshire ham and apricot mustard relish, tried to buy it but not for sale. BUT the chef gave me a little pot, thanks so much. Great place.
Lovely farm shop. Easy parking. Good range of food and produce. Cafe does decent gluten free sandwiches, cakes etc and dairy free options to . Was also nice not being surrounded by dogs for once when eating so top marks for having a no dog policy. Family can relax with young children in a relatively safe location with outside children's play area. Also had a fish and chips shop, indoor soft play plus other bits and bobs. Yes the food is in the higher side but so is everywhere these days. Staff helpful and friendly. There is also a classic car meet up here one Sunday a month early morning around 10am spring / summer. Check for dates though. Got myself a gluten free chocolate brownie to take home which was very good, nice and soft and made on the premises.
Great little farm shop, has a outdoor play area for the kids nothing overly exciting about it but perfect for a family trip that doesn't break the bank
Cakes are not what they used to be and the beer and cider in the farm shop are too expensive. To top it all, when I went on a nostalgic visit to a place my late partner and I used to like I was accused of not paying the bill by some clown who never bothered to ask why the receipt was on the table if I had not paid.
It looks like my previous review has been removed, so here goes another one.I have been a customer of the shop for a couple of months and things were fine to begin with (even though their prices are much higher than in the local supermarkets). However, last week I got a bag of sage, which wilted and went all brown within a day in the fridge, suggesting it could not have been fresh at the point of sale. This week I got a portion off haddock from their freezer, which was 20% off, but still well in date. When I defrosted it for dinner last night, the fish smelt so strongly of ammonia, I had to bin it to avoid food poisoning. For £10 per pack I expect better. I won’t be returning.
It's not a destination, it's a place you drive past and think, let's have a look, while driving around you do not always have time to check all the information and visit a website. The car park was full for what l do not know as most places were closed. The farm shopI understand l couldn't go in because they are not dog friendly sadly, I did get sneak a peak into the pet shop area must be popular as it was out of stock of most things.I just do not understand the rules about dog's some places let them in and others don't!I would recommend George's Farm Shop and Restaurant just down the road.
After reading some of the reviews we decided to give the Sunday Roast a go. Reading the description on the menu and with a price tag of almost £20, we were hoping for a decent meal. We definitely didn’t get that!!!The roast beef was tough and overcooked and the vegetables were absolutely horrible. How can you make a piece of beetroot so tasteless is beyond me. The potatoes, parsnips and carrots were obviously cooked long before and just reheated poorly.Very disappointing and would definitely not visit again.
I called in the farm shop to buy a bottle of Chew Valley gin which they had on the shelf , shocked at the price £55 for 70 CLs , on the chew valley gin website it shows it at £38 and a list of stockists. I checked the price with a member of staff who told me we cannot buy it for that !!! Funny how I managed to find it in another stockist for £38 . Ripoff 😞😞😞😞 Dear Erin re your reply , you have totally missed my point regarding buying from another shop , a small independent shop I bought it from , not an online ! purchase who was happy to sell it at £38 and I hope made a profitI understand shops need to make a profitbut your pricing for this item needs looking at 😮 your mark up is 45% above the recommended price
We love Farrington’s Cafe. Visited many times in past 6 years. Great welcome and service. Menu great and wholesome food with cheery staff, especially Sandra last Saturday. Thank you so much.
Unfortunately after yesterday a disastrous lunch served I asked for beef to be pink and it was served over cooked and chewy. I mentioned this to waitress who previously agreed it was how she liked it but served it overcooked beef….and surly walked awayI didn’t make a scene we just paid & left uneaten beef..We did ask and consider reserving a table for 11for my beloved birthday (80yrs) but I think this is greatly unlikely now..Perhaps a voucher you’d consider for and our hopeful return?RegardsJulie Robinson
My first visit to this fantastic place. I will be returning. There was plenty of parking, a roaring log burner. Lovely open feel and very friendly staff. Food was good too. I met up with a school friend and we spent a very happy four hours catching up with eachother. I couldn't believe how the time had flown. We were not rushed along but were made to feel very welcome. It was a shame to drag ourselves away. We didn't have time to explore the rest of the site but can heartily recommend the cafe.
Santa was great! Very warm and friendly. The reindeer were a lovely touch. My only criticism, is the ticket price was quite high for a visit to see two reindeer and Santa as well as a small gift. It would be great to have some more festive activities for the kids. Perhaps a treasure hunt around the farm (find the elves or something), a colouring /letter to Santa station while waiting to see Santa. Kids were getting impatient. Otherwise, lovely shops and cafe. Nice afternoon out.
This is a cool place to spend with family and children. There’s a small park which kids will love. There is a play area were kids will enjoy to play(paid one)The coffee shop serves lots of itemsThere is a small supermarket market from where we can buy fresh vegetables, meat etc
